Delicious Video Game Musics!

Let's get a bit more modern with some recent hits, shall we? Then just...well, hell, let's just go all over the place shall we?

No witty criticisms from me, no bullshit just good music, yo.

God Hand Ending Credits

Devil May Cry 3 "Devils Never Cry"

Bayonetta "Fly Me To The Moon"...I swear to every god and God available, they have something like ten different versions of Fly Me To The Moon on Bayonetta...and I love 'em all!

NiGHTS into Dreams "Dream Dreams" (oh god, the nostalgia~!!!!)

Oh SHIT son, time to dwell further into the realm of my past with Lunar - Attract Mode (the opening sequence for the original, and superior, Sega CD version of the game)

Mmmmm, delicious cheese. The song practically TELLS you the fucking story, and as bad as it seems...I just can't NOT love it, y'knowwhatImean? Like the first time you hear the music to Tetris or somethin', and now you're thinking of the songs to Tetris. HAH!

Speaking of which, when I was a teenager there was only a couple of games that I really begged my parents to get. Lunar E: Eternal Blue was one of them. I very nearly jizzed myself in sheer desire the MOMENT I heard Working Designs had translated a new one, and to this day this stands as one of the few examples of how a sequel can only make a story better.

It always angered me how Sega was treating their third-party offerings at the time, but then again this was during the time of "THE TOWER OF BABYLON"...y'know, the genesis + sega cd + 32x + whatever the fuck else they tried to con you into buying and stacking.

Bastards.

Parasite Eve "Primal Eyes." Aw shit son, don't tell me you DON'T like this song! If you dislike this song, the fucking terrorists win and you'll disappoint your parents forever. If you don't have parents, this song will GIVE you parents simply for them to be disappointed in you.

One of the best godammned remixes of Vampire Killer ever, from Castlevania of course~!

Shit, while we're at it, here's a techno remix of Vampire Killer~!

Annnnnnd why don't we end it there for the day? If you didn't hear a song from a game YOU happen to like, hit me up in the comments section or fire off a message and I'll post it up on the next vidyuh gaem post~!

Sincerely,

~That Bastard

I really don't watch THIS much anime, y'know...I'm just sayin'...

Aight, I got somethin' special for y'all. Now, I know as of late I've been on a real RAAAAAGE addict run, and I thank all of you who both enjoyed it or simply put up with it...but now I got somethin' to really get yer eardrums wet.

Now, some of you know I'm into anime. I'm not INTO anime, but hey I like what I like, y'know? Especially over the top violence, always dig that shit.

One of those is known as "Hellsing," which features both over the top violence, tons of I CANNOT DIEEEE and damn near Gary Stu levels of omnipotence. Just badasses everywhere...and while it DOES deviate strictly away from the manga at a certain point (namely before Millennium, er...Milleneon? Somethin' like that...appears and the whole NAZI VAMPIRES EATING BABIES thing goes down) I, personally, still find it incredibly enjoyable. Well, except for the final part...but even THAT battle is still pretty cool.

SO, what makes it so special to me is the OST's that came with it, "Raid" and "Ruins." Both have just deliciously MUSICAL music, just real genre-busting shit that's fuckin' awesome~! And what-with in light of my recent revelations about my band concept, No Rhymes, and the whole "fuck your genre" style of music (plus I DID mention it to Tracirz at her blog that I'd post some choice stuff up. Go check her out at http://technicolortypecast.blogspot.com/ ) I figured why the hell not just post up some of my faves from the OST's, y'knowwhat I mean? Admittedly, I'll be focusing on the Raid OST in this installment of Soothe, but hey that just leaves a whole other OST to check out yerdamnself...or just wait 'til I make a Ruins post, yah?

So without further adieu, let's get started with the coolest of 'em all, namely....

"Cool, The World Without Logos" - Hellsing OST Raid

"Double Crossed Fool" - Hellsing OST Raid

The aptly named "Musical Entertainment" - Hellsing OST Raid

"When Going To War, Fight With Arrows, Spears and Swords" - Hellsing OST Raid

...sounds like the kinda title I would write for a song...

"Faulty Neurosis Like Tune" - Hellsing OST Raid

"Certain Victory Lotus Tune" - Hellsing OST Raid

Well, it's hard to say exactly what IS the best about this particular album...I mean, it sounds a TOOOOON better when you just listen to 'em back to back on a disc or whateverhaveya.

Still, some good stuff altogether if this is yer kinda thing. I find that every now and then when I just have this iiiiitch I can't scraaaatch, I slap this on and BOOM, satisfied.

I hope you enjoyed this installment of Soothe Your Freaking Beast. I'm of a mind for video games in the next post, yeaaaaah....vidyuh games.

Here's a teeny, tiny hint:

my arm, My Arm, MY ARM, MY ARM, MY ARM, MY ARM....

GO TO DMC! FUCK!!!!

Y'know, why DON'T we just bust out a good ol' fashioned blowout, eh?

There's this anime called "Detroit Metal City," which follows a Japanese death metal band by the same name. Suffice it to say the humor is excellently done, the situations are hilarious and...well, there's just something incredibly entertaining about seeing the normally meek and exceedingly mild Soichi Negishi being forced to turn into vicious and demonic Johannes Krauser II, and how the two personalities bleed into one another depending on the situation.

Seriously, this shit is TOO funny! Especially the "11 rapes in one second" and "I'M GOING TO RAPE THIS SHITTY TOKYO TOWER!!!!"

No, seriously...this is one massive rape joke. If you ain't into that, you shouldn't check it out...but if you, like I, find this shit fuckin' hilarious then yer gonna dig it up with a silver spoon!

Now, with THAT stated, I ain't one for "screamo" or death metal growling...but DMC exemplifies the shit that I DO like, and I invite you to check it out for yourself!

Satsugai

Slash Killer

Urami Harasade Okubekika ("Should This Vengeance Be Taken")

Grotesque

Mad Monster

Ano Ko Wo Rape ("Rape That Girl")

Maou ("Satan")

Y'know, lemme spoil THIS much for ya: one of the funniest parts of DMC actually happens in the very first episode, but each episode has something to remember it kindly by. DEFINITELY the funniest though is when Negishi (who dreams of becoming a sugary, trendy pop star, but instead becomes a death metal star which in and of itself is nothing but hilarious) must save the girl he loves (a girl who dug his songs back in high school so much she became a music reporter...and who hates DMC, and doesn't know that Negishi is Krauser) by air-guitaring Krauser's moves in order to placate a bunch of DMC fans who became enraged and offended when he bad-mouthed DMC to his chick.

In the midst of his frantic air-guitaring and moves, he slowly bleeds over into Krauser but his thoughts are still his own, right? So he's all thinking "I know what I must do, I know what to say to you my love!"

Then he grabs her by the shoulders and in Krauser's voice, with the spirit of Krauser hanging over him, he roars "LET ME RAPE YOU BITCH PIG!!!" instead of "I love you."

Then immediately realizes he had accidentally become Krauser.

She smacks him and runs, and I don't even remember what happened next 'cuz I was laughing so fucking hard. Seriously, check it out!

Hell, even the TRIBUTE to Detroit Metal City fuckin' kicks ass! Check this out:

WARP (Walking Metal Mix) - by Monobright (for the Tribute to Krauser II album)

Joy - Metal Joy (for the Tribute to Krauser II album) - to be honest I think the band name is Yuki and the song is Joy...but the metal remix is called "metal joy." Whatever, I'll post up the originals sometime for comparison.

GO TO DMC! FUCK!!!!!

Dem Brooklyn Bums Blowout

Y'know, every now and then I'll buy a c.d., that way I can honestly say I'm supporting the music community, y'knowwhatImean?

In b4 haters and vicious slander.

Anyway, one of those compact discs that I've bought over the years that ISN'T Iron Maiden related happens to be of a band known as "Dem Brooklyn Bums." I used to listen to these dudes late at night while on security guard jobs, and I'm tellin' ya...they helped me get through a few sleepy nights. Seriously, the reason why I never fell asleep on the job was 'cuz of these dudes, and I swear I listened to that c.d. until it fucking died.

Seriously, it got scratched up like crazy and now all I have is a carcass to love on.

That iiiiiis until I found some of their stuff on Youtube! And now YOU can enjoy 'em too!

Dem Brooklyn Bums - Double Espresso

Dem Brooklyn Bums - Detroit Rock City

Dem Brooklyn Bums - Wifebeata Boogie

This next one, I swear to fuckin' God I'd start each day before going to work listening to this song here. Dem Brooklyn Bums - "Going The Distance."

What can I say, Dem Brooklyn Bums got a mean fuckin' bass, and they do their style SO right! Check it out, comment back and lemme hear what ya gotta say.

'Cuz yeah, they're good~!!!

YOU ARE NOT PREPARED: It's the Iron Maiden Extravaganza!!!

Oh god yes, it is time. IT IS TIME.

These bastards taught me the sweet science of heavy metal music. It's from them that I learned of the highs and lows and the sheer power and majesty that can be found in Heavy Metal music.

It is Iron Maiden who taught me how to stare into the eyes of darkness without blinking and shout "I AM!" at the heart of the world without flinching.

All I can offer them back is my unwavering loyalty (even as I and my band strengthen ourselves and practice our music, Iron Maiden is the one band I will NEVER start shit with) and support. I buy their albums and share word of their music with others. When I drove my friends around, on damn near c.d. I owned, burned or bought, I'd have a Iron Maiden song in there.

And now I'm sharing it with you guys.

Strangely enough, for me it all started with getting Brave New World for my twentieth birthday. A pivotal time for me since it was around that time I started getting more politically active, when I started coming to certain realizations about life here in America.

It was at that time that I noticed on my own how things had changed so horribly for African-Americans here, how we went from a proud culture of intellectual, socially-responsible people to thugs and gangbangers. It was during this time that I became practically vicious in my voiced opinions concerning "thug life" and what it had done to our people.

Back then, I still refused to use the word "Nigga" or anything even related to that word. Martin Luther King would've been proud of meh.

Nowadays, shiiiit I don't care man. At least I did until a few months ago...it's weird, I went from severe rage and socio-political activism (actually picketing, getting signatures, slapping senators if I saw 'em on the street) to just a sleepy kind of apathy...but now that I'm back in training and getting that feeling of being a badass back again, I'm getting to be vociferous again, only this time over the Internet.

I dunno, maybe it's all the riots or somethin'. Just the feeling that there still might be hope for the future, hope for America again.

What, you think I'm black? Nigga, I ain't even black. BWABWABWA WHAT NOW SON?

Fuck the racism and preconceived notions, let's listen to some good fuckin' music~!

Flight of Icarus

Die With Your Boots On

The Trooper

Powerslave

Ace's High

Out of the Silent Planet

The Wicker Man (the RADIO edit godammit!)

Virus (it's incredibly frightening to me how well this song describes what's going on in American politico-business strata)

Sign of the Cross (fuck the Blaze Bailey haters, he did a good job carrying the band after Bruce Dickinson. Of course his fans are kinda pathetic in the commentary...)

The Edge of Darkness

The Aftermath

Rainmaker

Paschendale

Face In The Sand (once again, it scares me how well this describes our current times)

The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg

Different World

If I haven't killed your browser by now, then you're gonna fuckin' LOVE the last two songs on this list that are, in my humble opinion, the greatest songs Iron Maiden has ever made. Maybe not the most popular, but these two have actually and actively affected my life directly, and thusly do I present them to you as I do.

Hallowed Be Thy Name

The Thin Line Between Love And Hate

Now, I know I know...you probably don't see a particular song (or songs) up on this list. Well, I gotta point out that Iron Maiden is not only one of the most prolific set of artists out there but also they're one of the longest-running. Besides, I don't want to ruin EVERY album they've put out there (I almost did with two of 'em already), and it'd be best for you to check 'em out and buy 'em on your own.

So there you have it. My big-assed Iron Maiden Extravaganza, and practically the reason why I started this blog.

No matter where you are, friends, no matter who you are just remember this: life is for rockin'.

Do it fuckin' banghead hard, yo.

Sincerely,

~That Bastard

I Might Lose A Follower Or Two For This 'Un...

So, do y'all know what Vocaloids are? It's basically a computer program that can sing.

Yeah, inorite?! Like Macross Plus is suddenly becoming real or somethin'~! Even worse, there's tooooons of porn out there for each one (or so, at least the most popular ones) so if they DO become sentient we're guaranteed they'll go Skynet on our collective asses.

With that stated, lemme introduce you to the most popular fuck that I'll show you my favorite one out of 'em all.

The alter-ego (I'll explain later) known as Miku Zatsune. In b4 weeaboos correcting me.

Miku Zatsune - Sweet So Sweet (WARNING, DAT OPENING SOUND BLAST!)

Okay, so you have Miku Hatsune, who is the most popular of the vocaloids (including squeeing fangirls whom I like to torture by posting up pornographic pictures of Miku. It's all fantears and "MIKU WOULD NEVER DO THAAAAAT!" guess what she did she's a 2-dimensional character and a computer program and I have pictures of her slutting it out with multiple kinds of gangbangs OH BY THE WAY MY BLOGS AREN'T SUGGESTED FOR YOUR KIDS YOU SHOULD NOT LET THEM READ ME LOL), and she's pretty much pure J-pop goodness. I don't mind J-techno, or J-pop, or...well, you get the point. Now Miku can kick out the jams though, with only a few sounding too metallic for my tastebuds.

Then you have her alter-ego which encompasses real metal, hard rock sounds though there's ongoing internuggets arguments if her name is Miku Zatsune or Miku Hagane. No matter how you cut it though, bitch's got chops.

Miku Hagane - Sky Burial

The, well...strangely metal-ish "Corpse Attack" by Miku Hagane...

Anyway, you get the point. Now that I've broken the ice with THAT, let's cover a coupla Miku Hatsune songs, eh? Then perhaps a coupla other vocaloids...

Miku Hatsune - God Slaying Machine

Miku Hatsune - Rerise

An interestingly, hauntingly beautiful one called "Silence"...

Another personal fave of mine, "Love Is War"...

Also, BWABWABWA omfg the fantards are fighting amongst themselves, Miku Hatsune purists versus those who think she's "as good as Lady Gaga!" AAAAAAHAHHAHAHAHHA!

So anyway, yeah...there's actually quite a few other vocaloids. Lin and Ren, the twins (brother and sister), two cute blondes who are sometimes accompanied by Miku Hatsune. Teito, who isn't as popular as Miku (and apparently has a bit of stage envy - she actually has a song "It's Teito's Turn Forever!" amongst others. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it, either way...), and there's also Luka, Kaito...

Well, to be quite honest I haven't even heard the others, really.

STILL, ya learn somethin' new everyday, yeah? And in this day and age when computer programs can friggin' sing, who knows what tomorrow will bring...

It'd better bring me my goddamn sex robot slaves, that's what~~!

Next post, I'm gonna post up just a bunch of hard rock and sweet metal, 'cuz my fuckin' e-cred is shrinking by the second. Gotta keep it real greasy up in heah, gotta keep it street, y'knowwhatI'msayin'?

~That Bastard

Got A Mixed Bag Of Good For Ya~!

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

Let's start things off with a coupla M.C. Hawkings offerings, eh? Time to piss off my creationist and monotheistic followers~!

M.C. Hawkings - Fuck The Creationists

M.C. Hawkings - What We Need More Of Is Science

Alright, I've had this on my Youtube for, like, awhiiiiile. It's one of the best freestyle raps I've ever heard given by a drunk, homeless guy. Plus the viewer comments are pretty fucking funny, tons of drama wars goin' on there (as of several months ago, at least). Truth straight off the streets y'all, dis nigga true fo real.

Kanookle and Junior - Freestyle

I know! Yeah they don't need help gettin' more advertising (and are, in fact, the greatest trolls to ever hit the music scene since every rapper ever), but hey - I dig their shit. It's like they studied all the old skool shit and just ran with it.

Yeah, it's Die Antwoord time!

Die Antwoord - Wat Pomp

Funny story, I'm actually into old skool style rap, y'knowwhatImean? Only kinda hip-hop is that hip-hopera bullshit, but y'know rap? I remember when that shit was dope before Thug Life was backed by the media as the only intellectual outlet for black people, and y'know what?

I can't stand that cookie cutter shit.

With THAT said, every now and then I come across songs, groups or individuals that are just so fuckin'...I dunno, interestin' that I just nod my head and enjoy that shit.

With THAT stated, enjoy some semi-NSFW (at least, it IS racy) fun with Die Antwoord - Evil Boy~! Prepare for more penis then you're comfortable with:

From now on I'm gonna go around screaming "MY PENIS IS CLEAN! MY PENIS IS STRONG!! DO NOT TOUCH MY PENIS I AM NOT A GAY I DON'T WANT TO GO INTO THE BUSH WITH YOUUUU!" in Swahili. Just...random places.

Worst part about it is that I actually know, like, five or seven people who'd actually DO that shit with me.

SWAHILI PENIS FLASH MOB, HOOAH!!!

BAH, so much rap today...time to get my hardcore chops back with some sweet, sweet metal and equally awesome hard rock!

James Gang - Walk Away (a personal fave)

A MAN SO FUCKING TALENTED AND AWESOME THAT THIS ENTIRE SENTENCE MUST BE DONE IN CAPITALS: DIO - EVIL EYES!

Alright alright, there we go~! I WILL be doing another vidyuh gaem music blowout but, above all, is the Iron Maiden megapage.

Above all, number one and above all I'm an Iron Maiden fan. It's because of them (the Brave New World album, to be specific) that I came into the world of heavy metal and haven't looked back since. For a long time I was just kinda all over the place after gangsta rap took over the rap scene, and I was still trying to discover who and what I was in a musical sense.

Then I discovered Iron Maiden, and it's been nothing but awesome after awesome ever since.

So until next time, mah peepz! Listen to some good music and just fucking enjoy life, y'know?L

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

Sorry, but it's time for a new music post!

Y'know, for purely popularity reasons I SHOULD leave that OOOOH SO SEXY POST up, but meh...time to post up some new songs sifted from the bowels of pure Youtube awesomeness.

Now I do believe it's time for some "Internet produced" music. What I mean is stuff that gets remixed by some unknown and just floated out onto the Internuggets, or completely original songs done by people over the internet like, well...Morbicae's "Shoop da Whoop" song. Dunno what it's about or where it initially came about from, but holy jesus does it fucking rock!

Here's the full version:

Also, this sweet remix of Playground (lol Another Bad Creation) and Castlevania's Vampire Killer~! Check THIS out:

Y'know, here's another awesome little ditty that I found on the Internets just fuckin' randomly and what-not...

Y'know, this is friggin' harder than I thought! Here, check this out...and my response is "Because fuck Rebecca Black, that's why."

I don't even NEED to tell you about AntfishTAS's fuckin' amazing parody dub of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (one of THE best anime/manga's out there, even if he is going on to Dune-level proportions when it comes to how much material is just bein' put out there. Besides, didn't Jotaro Joestar die already?), but he also did some remixes with stuff from the vidyuh games and anime and...well, dig the Lollipop WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY-Mix:

For no freaking reason, here's the opening to his parody dub since it uses the BEST part of Killswitch Engage's version of Holy Diver:

Hell, while we're at it here's a 10 FUCKING MINUTE LOOP of his strangely-dubbed Polnareff voice doing "Hoes and Wine." If you don't get the joke, it's a parody of a song by Alestorm called "Wenches and Mead."

Yes, that IS a great song to go running with!

Y'know, have I posted that song yet, Killswitch Engage's version of Holy Diver?

Shit, here ya go...the KE version:

and Dio's version:

And, to cap off this installment of Internets Musics, here's Imagica - The Night Loop. Because I remember when "artistic" homepages were new, original, artsy, fucking awesome and it was the year 2000.

Wednesday, July 27, 2011

Well, that's all for now! Got tests to take and stories to make, etcetera and et al and other nonsuch...

Sincerely,

Y'know what you need more of in your life? JIM'S BIG EGO!!!

Some of you will remember this AMV:

Yeap. It's THAT AMV~!!! Waaay back in the day, like 1998 or 2000 or somethin' like that, I ran across this gem like so many others did on the Internuggets. It wasn't until last week that I, literally, decided to check out Jim's Big Ego...

and hoooolyyyyy shiiiit, these guys fuckin' college rawk!!!

So, with that would you like to peruse a small selection of their discography? Seriously, these guys got an awesomely collective sense of humor in their videos, and I can't quite figure out what their genre is...but y'know what? Fuck it, check it yer damn self~!

After all, genres ain't nothin' but further bullshit marring what could possibly be awesome music~!

Addicted to Stress (their actual video, an incredibly funny one too in my opinion)

It's weird, that song pretty much just sums up my whole fucking life.

They're Everywhere

Nothin' major this time around, I've wanted to share Jim's Big Ego with y'all for a little bit now.

HEY, I know~! Let's close out with an AMAZING fan-made music video set to Dr. Steel's "Lament For A Toy Factory~!"

Good to go? Good to go!

Friday, July 15, 2011

You've got your geek in my gangsta! Well, you've got YOUR gangsta in MY geek!!

Fuck it all, it's Friday: time for some sweet fuckin' rhymes.

The Mighty Underdogs - Gunfight

I dare you, I DOUBLE-DOG DARE WITH BOTH LEGS UP to watch that shit stoned off your ass at 3 a.m. in the morning. I don't even DO drugs and I was trippin' balls off of that video!!! My friend though...HAH, best shit I've ever seen.

Trust me, everyone should have at least one stoner friend whose harshest shit is marijuana - they can be some of the funniest fuckers around, so long as they keep their shit together. An "office stoner" if you will.

Speakin' 'bout MF Doom, here he is with Zero 7 in Somersault - (Dangermouse Remix)

Now, I'll freak out about Zero 7 and MF Doom and Mos Def some other time. Let's rope it back to:

The Mighty Underdogs - Droppin' Science Fiction

Alright, NOW let's get back to MF Doom. Y'know, some years ago (like, four or five) Adult Swim was a pretty cool place to chill from 10 p.m. on. They also put out a completely free coupla albums, Chocolate Swim and...well, suffice it to say they had a couple of completely free albums. Both of 'em featured a shit-ton of offerings with acts like Madlibs, Lady Sovereign, MF Doom and Danger Mouse (whom I'm a huge faggot for)...well, you can find 'em on yer own or just wait 'til I decide to do a Best of Adult Swim Extravaganza.

In the meantime, here's some MF Doom, Danger Mouse and Adult Swim - Korn Dogz

For the record, I fucking hated Ozmo...but I grew to lurve Squidbees. Today I'm still frightening in my loathing for how low Adult Swim has sunk to, and I do indeed pine for the days of good programs like they used to. Ditto MTV2's lineup of cartoons from six years ago (spearheaded by the always good Celebrity Deathmatch)...god, I am just appalled at what they've been puttin' on the air. Seriously feels bad, bro.

Here's some more MF Doom/Adult Swim offerings:

Dangerdoom/Adult Swim - Sofa King

Dangerdoom/Adult Swim - Space Ho's (I actually have a different version than this, but hey - this is close enough~!)

Oh SHIT son, Dangerdoom and Ghostface Killah - The Mask with the videos of the Silver Saint in the background?!

YOU FUCKING HEARD ME!

Well, enough of my wangsting. Lemme leave ya with the delicious mouthwash that is Mos Def featuring Zero 7 - Umi Says. I have made love with this song playing in the background, and so should you.

Enjoy the weekend to come y'all, and I'm glad so many of you enjoyed the Prog Metal Blowout, not to mention the Faith No More Extravaganza. FNM and Mike Patton deserve all the accolades they've acquired, y'knowwhatImean? Anyway, expect an Iron Maiden and a Savatage Extravaganza from me soon - I simply have too much love for both of these bands to NOT speak on 'em.

Keep bangin' yer heads, mah peepz.

Ready for some good stuff? PROG METAL BLOWOUT!

Time to get our Prog Metal on.

Demon's and Wizards - Terror Train

I actually liked this song more BEFORE I read the lyrics. Afterwards? Meh..."I'm Blaine" doesn't sound as cool as "My friend." Plus it went from pretty awesome sounding to "waaaaah emoemoemoemoemoWHYWON'TYOUBEMYFRIIIIEND?!"

If I wanted that kinda shit, I'd listen to Morissey, who I hate with a blind passion.

Moooooving on with a double shot of Fates Warning, what has to be one of THE best bands from the back in the day, yo~!

Fata Morgana

The Apparition

My god, his vocals!!!!

SO, where was I? Oh yeah, Thunderstone. You NEED to hear this next song...

Thunderstone - Let The Demons Free.

Not the original vocalist (they've since gotten a new lead singer), but a great song nonetheless~!!

Hmmmm, speakin' about Stratovarius-like songs, how about some...well, Stratovarius?!

Stratovarius - Black Diamond

While we are neck-deep in my college years circa 2002-2004, let's go on with some Tristania - Angel Lore...

Now, before I continue know that I will NOT be posting up any Nightwish 'cuz I'm savin' THAT for an Extravaganza. They're up there, man. Ditto for Savatage, another amazing band.

But y'know who I WILL let you taste?

Dream Evil - Heavy Metal In The Night

Y'know, some might argue that some of the bands I've listed here don't count as progressive metal. I say "fuck that shit, it sounds awesome." With THAT stated, I present to you...

Blue Oyster Cult - Veteran of the Psychic Wars

Now...this.

THIS.

I actually hated this song for, like, six months...and will be addressing how I unhated it after those six months at my tumblr blog. Suffice it to say, I gradually grew to like this song, even adopting it as a personal theme song for quite a few years, and eventually grew to listen to the rest of their discography. Still, I look back fondly on those years when I was listening to this song...and, much like the video game music, this was just during an era of my life that was really, REALLY good for me.

I'm talking about Symphony X - Whispers.

Mmmmmmm, delicious prog metal! Tastes of SMITE OUR ENEMIES and BEHOLD THY SWORD BURIED IN THY CHEEEEEST!

In b4 "DRAGONFOOOORCE" or whatever other faggotry yer 'bout to yell at me.

Faith No More Extravaganza: A late-night too-tired -to-sleep post.

Y'know what a beautiful night like this needs?

A Faith No More Extravaganza. Apologies to my all-time favorite band, Iron Maiden, in that they are not my first extravaganza. I'll get you bastards next time.

Introduce Yourself - RIGHT ON!

Evidence - what has to be one of the grooviest songs I've ever had playing while making love.

Falling To Pieces - Like I WASN'T going to post this one up?!

SURPRISE, YOU'RE DEAD!

The Real Thing - I'm fairly certain I had a religious movement when I first heard this song. Just awesome, epic fuckin' music, man.

Edge of the World - is it me or am I just choosin' a ton of their songs from this one album? Can't be helped - I dig this shit too much.

War Pigs - one of my absolute fave versions of this amazing song, y'knowwhatImean? Mike Patton is the fucking Metatron himself, I swear to fucking God.

Cup of Sorrow - For awhile I didn't hear about either Faith No More OR Mr. Bungle (another Mike Patton project), then outta nowhere I see this on MTV2 when they were actually good again. Now MTV2 sucks just as hard as anything else out there. Man I miss the lineups from three or four years ago...

Ricochet - Yeah, why not...shit's good, bro.

Malpractice - Genre? What genre?! Faith No More has only one genre: Faith No More.

BE AGGRESSIVE - BE, BE AGGRESSIVE!!! Is it me or does FNM do a lot of...well, swallowing mentions? Like double entendres abound with Evidence, which IS about semen stains post-blowjorb. I'm just sayin'...

Land of Sunshine - pure fucking awesome.

Y'know what? It's time to kill this list, for now...and I'm gonna do it with one of those "Defining Songs" for my life.

May I present to you, friendly bastards all, to one of my top ten songs.

I present to you Epic by Faith No More.

Maybe you're too young to have seen this music video? Maybe you don't recognize the relevance of Faith No More in modern day musical styles and genres? I sincerely hope you've perhaps picked up a new favorite or two tonight, because FNM and Mike Patton himself have both been influential to many different genres, not just metal and rock.

Enjoy the music, my friends: it's one of the last bastions of hope for the futile future of mankind. It's the last rebellion, the final trump and shout, and, above all, the last fig leaf left to us.

Epic.

WHY DID THE FISH HAVE TO DIIIIIIIE?!!!!

THIS IS THE REAL FIRST VIDEO GAME MUSIC BLOG NOT THE OTHER ONE OH GOD FORGIVE ME!

So, I just posted up the vidyuh gaem Madworld OST highlights...

and then it hit me: wtf?!! Out of ANY video game OST's out there, there's one that I revere more than any for its' amazing tracks. I mean, there are so many memories tied to this OST for me that I refuse to spell it "vidyuh gaem" when speaking of this.

I'm talking about Guilty Gear X.

Some of you may know this game, some of you may not. Guilty Gear X is synonymous to me for a time of my life where I was practically untouchable. I had my crew, I had my peoples, I had two jobs and was going to school at the time. I was literally kicking ass on a weekly basis and was pretty much a juggernaut in quite a lot I was involved in at the time.

I was incredibly happy.

I would proceed to get to the top of my game, then fall down and am currently getting back up to that wicked pedestal I've apparently placed myself on. I may not be at that lofty goal yet, but it's one I will achieve, y'knowwhatImean?

ANYWAY, I just posted up the previous vidyuh gaem post, noted this then my heart freakin' broke. THIS should've been the one~! My first video game post, y'know? Guilty Gear X: Rising Force of Gear! In order to patch it up, lemme share a meaning or two with these four songs, my favorites out of an entire album that is composed of ALL of my favorites:

Still in the Darkness (Milia Rage VS Eddie)

Mmmmmmm...the coda to that song still makes my heart race. Just...period. Guilty Gear X (and it's subsequent "add-on" sequels, up 'til its' true sequel Guilty Gear 2...which I have yet to play. :( Sad face is very sad.) is definitely a game about the relationships of the characters interacting throughout the history of this amazing, hard-rock fueled world. Mostly the hatred and need for vengeance, but there's bright points too. The story of Milia Rage, Zato-1, Eddie and Venom is a tried and true story of fucked up relationships, black magic and eternal, smoldering, hate-filled, venomous, spiteful vengeance.

No Mercy (Sol Versus Ky)

God, that song...THAT song is what really got me into the idea of doing theme songs for particular characters/events. Out of all my stories and the bullshit that I've written/spouted, I still have yet to really flesh out any fictional relationship as twisted, brutal, and enmity-filled as that between Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske. Ignore the Blue Oni/Red Oni bullshit, forget about the "good versus evil" ideals, completely throw out the window the very basis of...well, fuck it, it's just about what has to be the greatest, most conflict-laden enmity I've ever witnessed. Now, I gotta admit that it might not be that bad: maybe my fanboy goggles is blowing up the whole Sol-Badguy-Not-Giving-A-Fuck-About-Ky-Kiske's-Beliefs-And-Existence or Ky-Kiske-Hating-Sol-Badguy-With-The-Passion-Of-A-Thousand-Suns-For-Destabilizing-The-Holy-Order-Of-Knights-And-Plunging-The-World-Into-Darkness.

...naw, they hate each other that much.

Things seem to have cooled off by Guilty Gear 2, but I will always love this time in the video game universe simply because it gave me a rivalry fueled with bitter, bitter hatred. For that I cannot love this game any more than I do already.

Burly Heart (Theme of Potemkin)

God this fucker was huge. Like seriously huge. Like holy fucking shit huge. Like xbawks hueg. Just fuckin' huge.

...that's it. Seriously, I remember this song mostly not because I like it that much, but rather it seems like all my friends at the time (and I DO mean all my friends, especially my weekly crew) just dug the fuck out of this song. I still don't know why, but I can't hear this song without thinking of you bastards.

Rock on hard, wherever life takes you fucktards. For old times sake: it was fun hangin' out wit y'all, and I'm glad I was able to bring you home safely. Now git the FUCK outta mah car!!!

Fuuga (Theme of Anji)

God I hated this fucker. Just hated hiiiiim, but there was only one person I couldn't fight against: this one friend of mine, the motherfucker rolled with May. May is this little sweet, cute, adorable loli who wields a fucking anchor, rides dolphins to attack you and could juggle your ass like it was fucking Super Smash Brothers.

Seriously, if ANYONE else used May, I'd whup 'em...but for whatever reason, the moment HE got his hands on her, I suddenly saw red and just LOST IT. I mean, all caps lost it. All my juggle attacks, my slick tricks with Venom or Chipp (in b4 Chipp Zanuff hate) or even my solid gameplay with Sol Badguy...pfft. All out the fucking window.

...where was I? Oh yeah, Anji.

For some reason, rollin' down the freeway and this c.d. playin' in the car, this song was just awesome. Especially during the summer. I don't know why.

Now, the entire OST is just awesome on top of fuckwin. Seriously, I know I was kinda plannin' this blog all hurly-burly to just present awesome music and such, and this is nothing like my The Bellingham Jerk...but this.

I really wanted to share something personal with you guys, public forums and the Internets and what-not, and this was definitely it.

VIDYUH GAEM MUSIC TIEM: MADWORLD OST

Shit, I ain't even here to bother you with the background of the awesome game that is Madworld, a game that I have yet to really play or own. Doesn't stop me from lovin' on it though, and since it's on the Wii I have even more mad love for it: it's like having My Way Entertainment dub air on Nickelodeon.

SO, here's my four favorite songs from the OST. I'm not even one FOR rap and hip-hop, yet this is some of the most original shit I've ever heard of in a vidyuh gaem.

Enjoy~!

It's A Mad World

Madworld

Look Pimpin'

So Cold

Madworld. A good fuckin' reason to own a Wii, if you ask me.

WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MEAT...PUPPETS?

Bad joke title, but a great freakin' song right here...crawlin' up out of the sewers of my teenage years, Meat Puppets' "Backwater," a great song that's just popped up in my head from time to time.

GOD, the '90's gave us so much good music, so many great songs and albums. Like, EVERYTHING by Soundgarden, y'knowwhatImean? Fuck the genre bullshit: if it's good, listen to it!

And Meat Puppets, to me, encapsulates everything great about '90's music. It's just honestly good rock, no excuses no bullshit and (today) no airplay.

Seriously, MTV...what the ever-living hell is WRONG with you fucking people? You, BET, even VH1, it's as if you're completely certain everyone is FINALLY brainwashed enough that you can just sit back on your laurels and stop trying.

Dude, the masses still remember when we had good music, not the corporate-produced bullshit of today. Perhaps there will be a reckoning, perhaps not...at least we still have the tunes of yesteryear, until we're told that it's both illegal and a mindcrime to listen to music about rebellion and imagination.

...and just like that, I derail my own goddamn blog into an opinions portal. Y'know what? Screw it, just listen to the song and ignore me.

As way of apology, shall I leave one more song for ya?

Kickin' This Blog Off The Proper Way

Bachman Turner Overdrive.

Just, Jesus Christ the chunkiness of these riffs~!!!  I can't think of a more worthy song to start this blog off with...though I'm immediately gonna follow it up with somethin' equally tasty~!

God, I'm so fucking lazy...just check out B.T.O.'s basic information and history here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bachman%E2%80%93Turner_Overdrive
